Thank you for sharing this.

The sentence that resonated with me most was:

> "Until the masks are truly down."

I found myself sitting with that for quite a while.

Over the years, I've begun to notice how many of the things I thought were simply parts of my personality were actually ways of protecting myself. Being capable. Being dependable. Being the one who helps. None of those things are wrong, but they can quietly become masks that keep us from bringing our whole selves before God and others.

As I read your piece, I found myself wondering if the deepest longing beneath all those masks is simply to be fully known and discover that we are still loved.

Your closing prayer was beautiful. It reminded me that perhaps transformation doesn't begin when we finally get ourselves together. It begins when we slowly become convinced that we can come to God exactly as we are.

Thank you for sharing part of your own journey. It gave me language for some things the Lord has been gently teaching me as well.

Dankjewel hiervoor, vooral voor de laatste twee paragrafen vanaf 'to arrive at the point of acceptance '...

(Dat heet toch een paragraaf hé?)
